Shipping Policy – Bags Mauritius

1. Overview
At Bags Mauritius we aim to deliver your order as quickly and safely as possible. Please read this policy carefully to understand how we handle shipping, delivery and pickup across Mauritius.
2. Delivery Coverage
- We currently deliver across Mauritius only
- We do not ship internationally at this time
- Delivery is available to all regions including Port Louis, Curepipe, Quatre Bornes, Rose Hill, Vacoas, Grand Baie, Mahebourg and surrounding areas
3. Two Types of Orders
🟢 In-Stock Items
- Items available in our current inventory
- Delivered or ready for pickup within 48 hours of order confirmation
- Order confirmation only happens once payment or deposit is received
🟡 Made-to-Order Items (Dispatched from India)
- Items not currently in stock and ordered specifically for you
- Dispatched from our supplier in India
- Estimated delivery time will be communicated to you personally after order confirmation
- These items take longer — we will keep you updated at every stage via WhatsApp
4. Delivery Process
- Place your order on bags.mu
- Make payment via MCB Juice or pay 10% COD deposit
- We confirm your order via WhatsApp
- We arrange delivery or notify you for pickup
- Balance paid in cash upon delivery (COD orders only)
5. Delivery Fees
- Delivery fees are calculated based on your location
- Exact delivery fee will be communicated at order confirmation
- Delivery fee is non-refundable once the order has been dispatched
6. Pickup Option
- Free pickup available by appointment only
- Location will be shared once your order is confirmed
- Bring your order confirmation number when collecting
- Pickup must be completed within 3 days of notification otherwise order may be cancelled
7. Delivery Timelines – Important Notice
- 48-hour timeline applies to in-stock items only
- Timelines are estimates and not guaranteed
- Delays may occur due to:
- High order volume
- Public holidays in Mauritius
- Courier delays
- Customs clearance for India shipments
- Bags Mauritius is not liable for delays caused by third parties or circumstances beyond our control
8. Failed Deliveries
- If you are not available at the time of delivery, we will contact you via WhatsApp to reschedule
- A second delivery attempt will be made at no extra charge
- If delivery fails twice due to customer unavailability, a redelivery fee may apply
- Uncollected pickup orders held for more than 3 days may be cancelled without refund of deposit
9. Damaged Items on Delivery
- Inspect your order before signing or accepting delivery
- If item is visibly damaged, refuse the delivery and contact us immediately on WhatsApp
- Once delivery is accepted, you have 48 hours to report any damage with photo or video proof
- Claims made after 48 hours will not be accepted
10. Order Tracking
- We currently manage deliveries personally and will update you via WhatsApp at every stage
- You will be notified when:
- Your order is confirmed
- Your order is out for delivery
- Your order has been delivered
11. Address Accuracy
- Ensure your delivery address is complete and accurate at checkout
- Bags Mauritius is not responsible for failed or delayed deliveries due to incorrect address information provided by the customer
- Additional delivery charges may apply if redelivery is needed due to wrong address
12. Public Holidays
- We do not deliver on Mauritian public holidays
- Orders placed on or just before a public holiday may experience slight delays
